Growing up Jack’s parents didn’t seem to react strongly to anything he does, supportive or disapproving. They were adamant on living a stress free life it meant they were emotionally distant. Jack resolved to never be like that with his own kids, even if it cost him his looks.

I’ve finally gotten back to working on both CPC fan fics! Here’s a sneak peak from each of them!

Princess Minerva:

Of course still wanting to keep this a secret for now had asked everyone if they could refrain from calling her ‘Minerva’ in public and just continue to call her ‘Frederick’ and refer to ‘her’ as he/him for now, promising that she will not feel insulted in any way. Another hurdle has now been cleared as Minerva reaches the more difficult challenges. Slowly hinting to her parents, mostly her mother, as well as going through her own transition.

The next day in her room Minerva sat at her dresser, her secret stash sprawled out in front of her as she worked on her makeup. “Well good news, things went by a lot easier than I expected. Let’s just hope it continues to go this easy…” she paused eyeliner in hand a look of unease on her face “Why do I feel like I just jinxed myself?” Because she did, as not a moment later there was a knock at her door! “Frederick? Are you in there?” And it was her mother. Crap! Mother! Minerva scrambled as she quickly gathered up all her makeup and stuffed it back into her desk “One moment!” Shouting as she hastily grabbed one of the makeup wipes and began viciously scrubbing her face! Come off come off come off!!! She looked back to see a majority of the makeup was gone with just a little glitter from the gloss leftover. Close enough! She quickly got up and ran to her door taking a few deep breaths to calm herself before opening the door to greet her mother. “Sorry about that mother I was…in the bathroom! Did you need something?” Mother’s intuition already told Isolde her ‘son’ was hiding something. “No Frederick I just wanted to know if everything was ok? Lately you’ve been a little off dear, is everything alright?” She asked with a look of concern in her eyes as Minerva gave a mental groan of embarrassment. I really was that bad at hiding it! Even Mother suspects something! She thought real hard trying to come up with an excuse…when an idea came to mind. I guess this would be the perfect opportunity to start.

Forgotten Heritage:

…Some time after Hisashi was forced back through the portal, everyone seemed to calm down a bit despite the fact that they could still hear the angry mob trying to break in. They wanted to trust that Hisashi’s spell will keep anyone from breaking in and didn't want to risk possibly breaking said protection spell by opening the door to even peek out. Fortunately there was a window with curtains that Maria, Lorana, and Miss Molly had been using to peek out, Lorena always having one or two books in hand in case they happened to spot someone trying to climb up. No one has said a word since then…until now. “Sooo…” Maria started taking a seat next to Blaine, Frederick taking a much needed nap on his lap…or at least trying to. All the screaming of threats and hurtful words made that a little difficult. Blaine stroked his brother’s hair as he shook in his lap, “An old imaginary friend that turned out to be an actually mythical- well not all that ‘mythical’ now japanese multi-tailed fox.” Maria chuckled nervously trying to make a little joke out of it hoping to lighten the mood…it didn’t work. Blaine just shrugged as he simply stared off into nothing, he was still trying to process what had just happened. Of course after discovering that your childhood imaginary friend wasn't so ‘imaginary’ afterall is a lot to take in.

I just wanna say I love how Jack is gonna make the wedding fits both his and Leelathae's liking. I know that is an average kindess act for marriage but it's still pretty heartwarming for me.

I think with how much they talk about their beauty, they don't love their inner self (their personality) and instead too focused on their outward beauty. So I'm guessing here that what triggers the reflection problem on people, is personal hurtful words? First with Gwen, Frederick calling her ugly. Leelathae, Helena and Jesse calling her ugly. And now with Helena and Jesse, Jack called them hideous.

my apologies if this is out of place on your blog- it's one of the few CPC blogs I know- but am I the only one who feels weird about the whitewashing Frederick's character is going through in fandom right now? like demonizing the CPC (a place literally made of the oppressed) in favor the white, cis, het, oh-so-innocent-and-pure boy? and making it seem like he was completely in the right to be racist to Gwen (unintentional racism is still racism!) and that everything he did was 100% justified and explained.

Again, sorry if I sound like an SJW (can't believe I'm using that term in 2024) but this just really rubs me the wrong way.

white boy favoritism is definitely a Thing in fandom and. yowch. generally we've seen characters ignorant towards how people on the braided island look where even the cpc thought that gwen was cursed at first (shoutout to molly for being normal about leelathae!). if i remember correctly leelathae's implied that she's human which makes me wonder about the lore... plus I don't really know how defined witches are with their stances in Hashtag Society but i feel like there's probably a social stigma or something there too... are all of them "evil"? are they born witches? do they all have similar traits? Who knows.... and yeahh the braided island inhabitants are a fictional race, but also the coding! the other pastel kids resemble their white father more, and they're technically mixed, while gwen is visibly more like her mother. like being more visibly indigenous or latina but if you were gwen in cpc. which makes me think yk

I wanna talk about 4 scenes

The first one

This is what I've been wondering the whole time. Where the heck is Jack? How long is this trip? All we know is he's grabbing the omniscient clam and going to wherever he's going. I think the canyon where the princes and the princesses were supposed to get married at? What is taking him so long?

The second and third scenes

We now know how Jamie's dream is. Sunshine rainbows and all, probably because of her sparkly magic. As the witch said: "They're usually mish-mash of each person's memories, acquaintances, and a lot of nonsense"

She also said "sometimes sounds and smells from the external world can seep in" So I'm thinking of this.

When Gwen ended up in her dream, she smelled flowers and heard birds singing from Lorena and Maria protecting her while she's asleep. Because Jamie realize she could be in a bad dream, I'm gonna bet the pastel family, Agatha and Molly, Frederick, heck maybe even cpc will tell her from the external words sweet messages like "You're loved!" "You're beautiful just the way you are" "I love you" "Please come back to us" over and over again.

What about what Gwen will see? Well from the next chapter's thumbnail we know she's gonna see Leopold. Most probably because of that one time where Leopold become a "therapist" for Gwen. Maybe dream Leopold will tell her the same thing he said in chapter 66:

"You'll never learn to love yourself.. if you can't honestly face your own feelings."

Other than that, she will surely meet her family and Frederick there. Maybe even flashback of when Frederick called her ugly.

But! What I really think is gonna happen is this:

Her memories of her mom is gonna appear like a repressed memory. That is definitely gonna happen I hope that will happen.

Do you wonder if King Jack ever tried to bring Queen Lilyth out in public? Did she ever get judgey looks from other people besides Jack’s family?

Personally I never wonder about it before, maybe because I think Leelathae | Lilyth is totally like the typical housewife who never left her house to go to the public (that's actually pretty 'normal' occasion to some people in eastern, my country)

"Judgey looks" is related to association of the said person. We're trying to gonna totally focus on the pastel queen. The Pastel Kingdom imho so mysterious in term of their relationship with their own citizens (see the comparison of Plaid kingdom-royals and citizens has such tight relationship at least if we see Blaine and Lance, Blaine has fanclub made by citizens of his kingdom, and Lance military buddies definitely civilians. Civilians and Royalty meets each other frequently, in nutshell for the Plaid daily lives). That's different with the Pastel. The only social event that I see the ruler let citizens come in is "the wake" - we never see civilians making audience with the rulers (even at Helena and Jesse era), there's no interpersonal relationship between royalty of pastel with it's citizens - especially as Jack often away for his job doing expeditions for indefinite time

I see the events where Lilyth comes out to the public (be it to go outside, or still stays - at the pastel palace) is close to "never happen" so why worry over hypothetical judgey looks? Also I remember the story where Gwen mistaken as Maria - all of street vendors didn't bat an eye to see Gwen as 'green' skinned girl. So in nutshell for Pastel citizens maybe they're never thinks Gwen-Lilyth looks to be odd, OR they're keep their own opinion for themselves as Gwen that accompanied with a guard = she's a higher up from family that influential enough to could get a guard to "bodyguard"ing a girl. Or again, when Gwen and Abbi do shopping at Pastel Plaza, no one comments anything about her look - which I think could means that people at Pastel Plaza totally OK as desensitized with 'weird looks' especially as the plaza is the favorite hangout place for the CPC as cursed princesses - with green cursed hand that often do obscure poses. Just saying of my example is Saffron. So we could assume that Pastel folks aren't judgemental BUT others folks are, for example the Plaids (which with how overprotective Jack is, I don't see him lets Lilyth away for interkingdoms + they're have 4 kids on for 3 labors so most of Lilyth time supposedlu is spent in the castle anyway embracing motherhood (and she die early 13 years ago) - she's the queen that didn't need to do trivial stuffs of buying groceries like us commoners, that's servants like maids written job) in general not looking over Gwen-Lilyth looks kindly, is not only Frederick initially. Blaine show that he genuinely thinks Gwen the uggliest daughter, while 2 women in bd party totes jerks:

At the end of the day, I think Gwen-Lilyth looks which is non public standard of pretty, different kind of beautiful - is perfect judgement over the goodness and feelings of person that interacted with them. If the person is jerks/damaged as cursed/traumatized etc - they will see the green ladies looks as "ugly" variations BUT if the person has nice/ kind/goodheart etc - they will see Gwen and Lilyth as "normal, or even beautiful". And don't forget that feelings is changes constantly, with Frederick as perfect example - once he let go of his fear associate Gwen-Lilyth looks with the witch, all witchy attributes are gone 'magically' in his perspective
